Christmas Outreach

We had our Christmas outreach before Christmas, and anywhere from 300 - 500 kids came to our children's home yard to have what we call "Christmas with Jesus". We had this event last year and it was such a great success, we decided to do it again this year. A good time was had by ALL of the children that were invited to participate, even our own kids, and some adults too, had a blast. We had sack races, trampoline's, soccer and other games, plus we had cotton candy, candied apples, ice cream, and of course Ernie cooked a big ole pot of food. They were also given a bag of goodies with some toy's, juices, and some food items. Check out some of the pictures that were taken that day, it brought so much joy to those children, and to us as well. It helped us to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season, REALLY!

Thank you everyone that helped us make this happen, God bless you ALL, and Happy New Year.

November 07 Newsletter

This Thanksgiving we took a short trip to BTR to visit with my family and a few friends. It had been two years since we had been in the states for Thanksgiving, so it was really nice. We had a great time, and yes it was non stop, but we enjoyed ourselves, and got to visit with some old friends, and also a few new ones, it was a blessing. It was great spending time with my family, we had a good time, lots of laughs. Thank you Paul and Kelly for letting us hang at your place, we always feel right at home, God bless you and your home.

We are still cooking every Sat. for the women and children, and it has been amazing to see the love of God at this event. A few weeks ago I met a lady that has 10 children, her husband passed away just recently, and she walks about 5 miles, every Sat. with all of her children to receive the Word, and get a hot meal for her family. She has twin girls, about age 6, and a baby boy, around 1, and these children really left me in tears one day because they did not have on any shoes, and their feet were filthy, and blistered, the other siblings had shoes, but not these, and so i wanted to get them shoes. I was able to give the little boy some shoes, but did not know the girls size, so i measured their feet, so next week i will give the girls their shoes. We are so blessed with children’s items, and i know that as long as God is blessing us, we will bless others, that’s what we are here for to be a blessing. Thank you to everyone that helps us by sending shoes, clothes, and of course financial donations to buy the food items we need to cook with every Sat., it means SO much.

We hope and pray that you all have a
very blessed holiday season.

God bless you all.

Nov. news

I have wonderful news, Kathy is now potty trained, i am sooooooo happy. It took her a while, but when she turned 3, last month, i decided to give it another shot, and it worked, Praise Jesus! I am sure some of you are saying ok this chick needs to get a life, but for those moms that have had difficult children to train, they can very much appreciate where i'm coming from. Way to go Kathy!

Last week at our weekly Sat feeding, i noticed this family of about 5 kids ages 1 and up, and these children really tugged at my heart strings this particular day. I see them every week, but normally i am so wrapped up in serving these women and children that i don't notice them, like i should. ( I am being very real right now). So this day i was walking taking pictures and i came across this family and i noticed that the little girls, twins, probably age 6 or 7 were bare foot, and very dirty, and it made me cry. They come every Sat, I did not ask how far they walk to get there, but i'm sure it's quite a few miles, most of the children that come walk at least 5-10 miles, if not more to come get a warm meal and here a message about Jesus. Also they come dressed, in their Sunday best, which is torn, dirty dresses, the same one's every week, and it just breaks my heart that i have not noticed them, like this before. It is getting a little cooler here, and these girls really need socks, shoes, and clothes so i am determined to find some. If any of you feel like helping me with these children, with clothes and shoes, please contact me by email at robyn@erinternational.org.

Thank you and God bless.

Still Cooking and Feeding

We are still cooking and feeding every Sat, rain or shine, for about 600 women, and children, and it has been so great. The pastor that we are working with told me Sat. that since we have been going out to his facility and cooking, and feeding, the amount of women that come has doubled, there were about 50 in the beginning, but now he said that there are around 100, plus that are coming for a hot meal and a message, God is Good!

We have now cooked and served over 12,000 plates of food since May 2007, the time has gone by so fast. God truly blesses me every time i go out there, and He reminds me of how awesome it is to serve Him, and how he has blessed us to bless others.

Thank you to all that help us with this feeding every Sat, those that come to help out, and those that help financially, may God richly bless you all.

More CFC Honduras

This month we were happy that the CFC team came back this year from HPC out of BTR,LA. This was their 3rd year to come to visit us and do some Good ole Louisiana cooking, and of course everyone was pleased.
The team had a busy week, they went to the men’s prison in Comayagua and cooked and fed around 700 inmates and guards.
They cooked and fed for 300-500 inmates and guards, at the women’s prison in Tamara.
This month we celebrated children’s day, so we took the team to the place where we go and feed every Sat, and we cooked and fed around 1000 women and children. We also gave them toy’s, and candy the kids had a great time that day. The team really enjoyed hanging out with some of the kids, these kids are not used to seeing so many gringo’s at one time, they didn’t know what to think.

The team made a trip to Zion church near the Valley of The Angels, where our good friend Tim lives and Pastors a church. We cooked and fed for 300-500 people that day, and then the team took the annual trip to the Valley to go souvenir shopping, a good time was had by all.
The last night before the team left they had a different experience, but a good one. They went to a pretty dangerous part of Teguc. and cooked and fed for around 2000 after a church service at a church in Teguc. Some of them were a little nervous at first, but God is good and He was there and people were blessed by their southern hospitality, and of course good food, and it’s always obvious when you are around these guy’s you can always feel the love of God.
We just want to say thank you so much, David, Jody, Randy, Lisa, and Marty for taking the time to come and share your love and cooking skills in such a practical way, we love and appreciate you so much and are looking forward to next years visit.
God bless to all of you.

Skittels

Skittles skittles skittles Who would of thought that skittles would be the big hit, I tried to give out skittles candy to the children in Zambrano and it became crazy, The things we take for granite in the US is like gold to others, when picking a fruit off of a tree or eating beans three times a day all week is the diet for the majority of the children we feed. The hot meal that we are able to provide them and a little left over Valentine candy goes a long way. Yea and for those in Baton Rouge that reads these blogs I could use a fitted LSU hat M/L
