Ernie & Robyn Breaux

Since its founding in 2003 by Ernie and Robyn Breaux, ER International has been dedicated to helping disabled children, runaways, and young mothers find hope and support while learning of the love of Jesus Christ. Separately, both Ernie and Robyn had dedicated their lives to meeting the needs of others while located in Baton Rouge. Ernie ran a ministry helping young female runaways struggling with addiction, and Robyn filled her time by offering services to churches and working with a Christian radio station. After Robyn volunteered with Ernie’s mission, the two married and began to merge their volunteer and charity efforts together.

Motivated by their own faith and servants’ hearts, Ernie and Robyn began ER International in St. Petersburg, Florida to help homeless and runaway children living on the city’s streets. It was this initiative that led them to Free the Oppressed, a charity based out of Zambrano, Honduras. After a year of working with the charity, Ernie and Robyn took a leap of faith and moved to Zambrano themselves. Once in Honduras, they began working with Prince of Peace Children’s Home, a home for abandoned, and abused, or orphaned children. Their efforts led them to opening a Teenage Pregnancy Crisis Center and School, furthering their goal to help the world’s youth.

An eventual meeting with the First Lady of Honduras changed the direction of ER International, as well as Ernie and Robyn’s lives, forever. They were asked to take in a malnourished baby boy, and it was this precious infant that convinced the Breaux’s to stay in Honduras indefinitely. Their adopted son, Joey, was later diagnosed with PDD-NOS (a form of Autism), and the Breaux family began to dedicate their efforts to their son and other disabled children in Honduras. They moved to the island of Roatan, where they learned there were no services for Autistic children or those with other learning disabilities. Sad to see children like Joey being cast out for their imperfections, Ernie and Robyn began working with a local school to establish special needs programs for children with learning difficulties, with the eventual goal of opening a therapy center solely dedicated to children with Autism, and other learning dissibilities on the island.

ER International is also tied to the international humanitarian coalition Travel Adventure Group (TAG), as well as Honduran fundraising groups that employ former gang members in raising money for other Christian charities. ER International is able to continue their work on Roatan and throughout the world due to the generous donations and support of churches, businesses and individuals around the world. They are dedicated to continuing their efforts in Honduras and educating children with Autism, and other learning dissibilities.
