Christian, Bilingual school coming to Zambrano

I hope and pray that all is well with each and every one of you! All is well here in Honduras, things are progressing and moving along, Honduran style!

We have started on a new project! We have decided to make the unwed moms home, for teenage, abused girls, and babies, a Christian, bilingual school. The girls and their toddlers, not babies anymore, have made a transition to the Prince of Peace Children's home, so we thought that while the house was empty we would do some roof and other repair work, and then one thing led to the other, and through a few conversations, we decided to make the house a school! Our kids now, from Prince of Peace Children's home, and staff kids, which is about 18 kids, travel by ministry bus, 5 days a week, one and 1/2 hr. drive, one way - due to construction traffic -, to Comayagua to a Christian, bilingual school. These roads can be dangerous to travel on, and not to mention the money that is spent for gas, repair work on the bus, food for the kids to eat at school, uniforms, books, and materials, tuition, among other things, this is quite expensive! So we will start with one teacher, which we have now from the states, to teach a few of the kids, and then once the school is completed, we will hire one, if not more, teachers to teach the other children that we still have in school. And possibly, once the school is up and running, we would like to open the school to other children from Zambrano to attend. It will be an awesome way to show these less fonrtunite kids, that would never be able to afford a Christian, bilingual school, the love of Jesus, and also they will have a great learning opportunity, to receive an education that they do not have now, plus learn English.

We have met with a local artichetect, from Honduras, who basically said that the roof, and ceiling, all of it on the house needed to be completely redone, and so they came this week and tore the entire roof, ceiling off, and then next week they will start with the new one. This project is expected to take up to 8 weeks to complete.

The total cost of this project, from start to finish, will be approximately $23,000.00. This cost includes the labor, and materials.
